Inspection & Rebuild

6D Helmets ATR-2, ATR-2Y, ATR-3, ATR-3 FIM, and ATR-3Y can in many cases be rebuilt after a crash.

6D’s replaceable Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam is engineered for single-impact protection to absorb and dissipate energy. Following a significant impact, the EPS foam may compress, crack, or deform, which reduces its ability to protect you in subsequent incidents. If the helmet's outer shell remains intact, the inner EPS liner can be fully replaced.

To qualify for the Rebuild Program, the outer shell must pass a thorough inspection process upon arrival at our Rebuild Center. Not all helmets will be eligible for a rebuild.

If your helmet passes inspection, the inner EPS assembly will be replaced. If additional parts (such as a chin bar, visor, etc.) are needed, extra charges will apply.

When purchasing this service, you will receive a shipping label to send your helmet to the Rebuild Center, along with an email containing detailed instructions.

Note: If additional parts or new packaging are required, an invoice will be sent to you before completion.

Shipping Instructions

1. Remove accessories: Ship the helmet without comfort liners, cheek pads, helmet bags, or other loose accessories.

2. Include paperwork: Place the completed Inspect & Rebuild form inside the box.

3. Pack carefully: Use sturdy packaging. Your helmet will usually be returned to you in the same box.

Turnaround time: 7–14 business days.

Inspection Outcomes & Disclaimers

• Unfit for Rebuild: If your helmet does not pass inspection, you can choose between:

  • Having the helmet returned to you with a refund of €75 (shipping costs are non-refundable).

  • Having the Rebuild Center dispose of the helmet for a refund of €100.

• Unidentified Helmets: If a helmet is received without an Inspect & Rebuild form or contact details, it may be disposed of after 30 days.
