ODS-Omni Directional Suspension
Share
6D's Omni-Directional Suspension (ODS) includes an active, in-helmet suspension and kinetic energy management system. This system reduces the transfer of energy to the brain in a wide range of accident situations, including low, medium and high speed impacts in both linear and angular accelerations. The 6D is the only helmet with two separate damping layers. The suspended double liner assembly moves and absorbs in all directions when subjected to impact. Elastomeric isolation dampers work together with two EPS liners to absorb impact energy from your brain. The elastic properties of the dampers, combined with their unique "hourglass" shape, provide a progressive spring that dampens low to mid-speed acceleration while allowing the internal EPS liner to move in three-dimensional space on its own. This multi-directional suspension feature offers "six degrees of freedom" which became the inspiration for the company name; "6D Helmets".
